It's My Face I can DO WHAT I WANT
Now a days it seems like everybody can beat their face BUT you to the point now your spending $60+ on a makeup service that only last one night. I know you may be thinking. "Leah you've been doing makeup since freshman year of college how can you possibly relate?". Well just like everybody else I learned by watching YouTube videos and Instagram tutorials. Now let me say this makeup can become addicting and an expensive hobby.
Expectations: Let me first start off saying those "Instagram baddies" do not look like that everyday and 9/10 they also use Face Tune. Don't feel like you need makeup to compare to these women that we see on social media on a regular. You have to love what you have first and only then will you feel like thee baddest bitch! Now lets get started.
Cost: Now please don't go buy $500 worth of makeup when you know your rent is due. There are cheaper routs to take when buying makeup. Never let anybody convince you that you need to spend $50 on a foundation when I can buy one for $10 and they do the exact same thing. I always send people who are interested in makeup to Colourpop. Great quality for an amazing price. I own a bunch of stuff from them, and my favorite has to be their foundation sticks and concealers! Now you may think well how am I going to find my shade on a website if I don't buy makeup? Go to your nearest Ulta or Sephora get matched in the ABH foundation stick or Fenty beauty foundation and remember your shade name.. take a picture.. write it down... anything as long as you remember it! Now you can shade match on the website! To save a little extra coin visit www.findation.com there you can list all the shades you've been matched to and they show you your matches in other foundation so that your not wasting time buying foundations that don't match. *also note that Sephora accepts returns even for used products, just don't use have of it then try to return it sus.*
Practice: Just watching someone do makeup isn't gonna make you a MUA over night as sad as that may be. It takes time and practice and a bunch of patience. Now if you could see my pictures from my first year of college to now you'd see a huge difference. There were also nights I cried as I did my makeup because one winged liner wouldn't match the other. Some nights I looked like a powdered donut. Eyebrows looked like NIKE check marks; but I can say that I've gotten a lot better..... growth!
Occasions: Now I am not somebody who can beat my face to the Gods every single day... it's just not practical for me at least. So if your somebody that has to wear makeup to the store or has to wear it to work everyday I'm sorry your gonna end up spending a lot of money on makeup because you're using it everyday. Try finding the perfect skin care routine. (I'm still trying to find mine so I won't be much help right now).
If you have any suggestions be free to leave comments at the bottom. I have oily/ combo skin with large pores!
